Science in 1900 London: The Royal Astronomical Society
Arthur H. Beavan continued his survey of science in Imperial London, published in 1901, with this discussion of the Royal Astronomical Society:
The Royal Astronomical Society is also housed on the same side of the Burlington House quadrangle as the Linnean Society.
Like so many other Societies, it has migrated here from Somerset
House.
Its entrance fees and subscriptions are low, and it numbers a good many members.
A monthly periodical and a set of memoirs are issued by it every month.
The Society was founded in 1820.
